Thank you for accompanying and partnering with Shawn and our family on this amazing God anointed journey. It has been a humbling, but blessed six month experience. It all began on July 2nd with us finding Shawn unconscious in bed, followed by his being rushed to the emergency room at St. John’s Hospital. We waited and prayed as his vital organs were shutting down. Shawn was in critical condition & the forecast wasn’t promising. He was dying… Later that day he was moved to the ICU. A few days later Shawn’s neurologist gathered our family together and informed us (showing us his brain scans) that Shawn had lost oxygen to the brain for a period of time and his brain was severely damaged. The neurologist proceeded to inform us that Shawn would not recover and that we should stop feeding him thereby starving him to death. Man’s ways are not God’s ways! God had a different plan! As we fast forward six months we reflect back on the miracle of God…HIS healing of Shawn. First we celebrated Shawn coming out of his two month coma, then we celebrated his first words, then him being able to eat solid foods, his first steps to walk, to Shawn being released and walking out the front doors of wonderful Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado, to his out-patient status, to Shawn jogging on Christmas day and our family being able to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Scottsdale, Arizona with Shawn as well as with family & friends. We now celebrate the New Year and look with excitement to what God has in store for Shawn and our family in 2014. It appears that we’ll spend five more weeks (to the end of January) of out-patient therapy here in Colorado before we move back to Los Angeles. We’ll find a place to live and Shawn will continue his necessary therapies. Please continue praying for Shawn’s healing and also for our family. God (Jehovah-Rapha) has greatly blessed us by allowing us to live this miracle on a daily basis. Shawn received an amazing abundance of compassion and love from God. Shawn was given a second chance at life. God intervened and performed a miracle so that HE would be honored and glorified by what only HE could do. We believe as do many men and women of God that Shawn was spared because God has a specific plan and purpose for his life. Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” … God in HIS mercy has already used Shawn and his situation to change lives, draw people to HIMSELF and encourage others in many different ways. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for Shawn’s future. My personal desire is for everyone to know our awesome God and this is done through faith in HIS Son Jesus Christ. I pray that each of us truly knows and understands that HE is a God of miracles. The Lord loves us and desires for each of us to know HIM personally, intimately and to enjoy HIM and the life that comes from following HIM & living daily for HIM. We find our true calling, our purpose, our meaning and satisfaction in our relationship with Jesus. Nothing in this world can truly satisfy us apart from Jesus. I pray you will seek Jesus daily and commit your life to HIM. Thank you again and again for your prayers, support and encouragement. We are so very grateful to each of you. When you think of Shawn, think of how amazing God is and what HE has done for Shawn. Please thank the Lord for us too. God bless you. Kevin
1 Chronicles 16:8-12 “Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that He has done, His miracles and judgments He uttered.”
