Family & Friends, this has been a very encouraging week for Shawn. His improvement continues on a daily basis & we are very grateful to the Lord Jesus. This week Shawn began to re-learn how to walk. He was in the “lokomat” which is a robotic machine that helps Shawn get familiar with walking once again. It is so great to talk with Shawn & also to see him walking, especially when reflecting back to Shawn’s first neurologist who said he’d be in a bad vegetative state for the rest of his life. This doctor also said we should get ready (after one month) to pull the plug & let Shawn die.
(1 Corinthians 1:25 “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”)
Today Shawn had two therapist assisting him with walking. He needs lots of help to walk, but just to see him standing by himself is a miracle. Please pray for Shawn to be able to walk on his own. His right side is not as strong as his left side. Would you please pray for God to heal & strengthen his body, particular his right side. Shawn had an appointment with the eye doctor today to examine his vision. The doctor was very encouraged by Shawn’s vision progress over the last month. His vision challenges are a function of how his brain is working. Please pray for Shawn’s complete brain recovery. We are so grateful for the Lord’s healing touch on Shawn. It’s truly amazing & a blessing to watch & see God at work on a daily basis. We give Shawn credit for working very hard, but the Lord Jesus Christ gets all the praise & glory. We’ve been here in Denver 2 months & in some ways it’s gone by extremely fast, but in other ways it seems like we’ve been here a very long time. Please, please keep praying.
